Time Flies

A raven with outspread wings grasps a pocket watch by a red ribbon in its beak. The textured background provides contrast to the dark feathers.

I dreamt about crows or ravens with various time pieces. The images were so strong in my mind when I awoke, I knew I had to paint them. Each painting has a mystical feeling.

"Time Flies" is painting number two in the series. I start each painting with a layer of tissue paper glued to the canvas with acrylic medium. The tissue paper is what gives each piece it's unique texture.
